What to put on a receipt
- Your business — name, address, contact details and tax number if you are registered
- A receipt number — in sequence — REC-1001, REC-1002 — never reused
- The date paid — the day the money arrived, not the day you wrote it
- Who paid — a person or the company paying the bill
- What it was for — each item with quantity and price
- Tax — the rate and the amount, if you charge it
- How it was paid — cash, card, transfer or mobile money, with a reference
