Cash-up · till shifts · floats

End-of-shift cash-up without the calculator

Each tiller opens their till with a float and closes it by counting the drawer. WStation already knows every sale and pay-out on that shift, so it tells you what should be there and whether the drawer is over or short — and writes it down for good.

Every sale has a name

Each tax invoice records who took it and on which shift. No more "it wasn't me".

Closed means closed

A closed shift keeps its totals and its over/short for good — the record can't be quietly changed.

Managers approve, tillers ask

A tiller never edits a sale. They ask to fix it or cancel it, and a manager approves.

How it works

One stay, four names, zero retyping

Every guest is one record that changes its name as they go: asked for a price, said yes, stayed, paid. Each step is one press of a button.

  1. QuotationThey ask what it costs. Rooms, nights, guests and a deposit, priced in a minute.
  2. BookingThey say yes. One click, and the room is theirs on the calendar — nobody else can have it.
  3. InvoiceThey check out. The bill is raised from what was quoted, nothing typed twice.
  4. Tax invoiceThey pay. Part or all, by cash, card or transfer — the receipt is written and it is in the books.

Done right

A float is not income

The money in the drawer at the start of a shift was already yours. WStation records a float as a transfer, not a sale, so it never inflates your takings.

  • Floats — moved from your cash on hand into the till — no income created
  • Opening balances — existing cash and bank brought forward when you start with WStation
  • Pay-outs — cash expenses recorded against the shift that paid them
  • Over/short — the difference between expected and counted, kept with the shift
  • Every sale signed — each tax invoice records who took it and on which shift

Questions

Asked before signing up

Can I run more than one till?

Yes — say a bar till and a shop till. Each tiller is assigned to a till, and each shift is counted on its own.

How do I invite tillers?

From Team: type their Google email, pick Tiller, and send the link by email or WhatsApp. They join with their Google account.

Can a tiller see my income?

Only if you switch it on. By default a tiller sees the till and the front desk, nothing else.
