WStation adds up what you put into it. That is genuinely useful, and it is not the same thing as advice.

The figures are arithmetic, not advice

Totals, VAT, profit, what you are owed and what you owe are all calculated from the records you have entered, at the rates you have set. They are only as right as what went in. Nothing on these screens is accounting, tax, financial or legal advice, and nothing here replaces an accountant.

VAT and tax in particular

The VAT figures are worked out from money that actually moved: the VAT inside each receipt, less the VAT you recorded against each expense. Whether a particular sale is standard-rated, zero-rated or exempt is a judgement about your business that only you and your accountant can make, and WStation takes your word for it. Check any return against your own records before filing it.

Documents you issue

Invoices, quotations and receipts generated here carry the details you entered in Settings. Whether they meet the invoicing requirements where you trade — the numbering, the wording, the registration numbers that must appear — is for you to confirm.

Keep your own copies

Records here are backed by Cloudflare's infrastructure, but no service is beyond failure and no account is beyond a mistaken deletion. Where you are required to retain records, export them regularly and keep the copies yourself. Settings has the export.
